PE-Xa piping systems are mainly used in bathrooms and found their way to dialysis a few years ago as a cheap alternative to orbital welded stainless steel pipes.
Electro-polished stainless steel has a rougher surface compared to PVDF and therefore needs more frequent cleaning. In some systems the hot water sanitizations are done each night. The advantage of lower initial investment costs are thus offset by higher operating costs by more frequent hot water sanitizations. |
